TYCM Leadership Holds Crucial Talks with Tribal Affairs Director on Urgent Tribal Welfare Issues in Manipur

Imphal, July 26: A delegation of eight Central Executive Council members from the Tribal Youth Council Manipur (TYCM), General Headquarters, led by Momo Tantanga, President of TYCM-GHQ, held a meeting with the Director of the Tribal Affairs & Hills Department, Government of Manipur, on July 25, 2025 at the Directorate Office.

The two-hour-long meeting centered on an in-depth discussion of the multifaceted challenges faced by tribal communities in Manipur. Key issues raised included the acute shortage of manpower within the Directorate Office, the urgent need for renovation of the Tribal Market at New Checkon, and the Girls Hostel at Old Lambulane, Imphal, among other pressing concerns related to tribal welfare.

The discussions also explored viable mechanisms to address and resolve the grievances of the tribal population in a timely and effective manner.
