Team of Experts constituted by SC visits relief camps in Churachandpur

Churachandpur: Members of the Team of Experts on behalf of the Committee constituted by the Supreme Court of India visited several relief camps in Churachandpur and interacted with the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) on Saturday.

The team of three experts namely Dr Ramani Atkuri, Dr Raman Kataria and Dr Abha Choudhary came in two sub-teams. While Dr Ramani Atkuri and Dr Raman Kataria are in the health sub-team, Dr Abha Choudhary is in the Geriatric/Social Welfare team.

The members visited relief camps at VK Tawna High; M Songgel ECA Church campus; Tuibong ECA Church premises; D Phailien; Saikot PHSC, New Lamka PHSC and Old Age Home run by Human Action for Rural Empowerment at New Mata. They interacted with the IDPs and enquired about the health facilities and other welfare measures at the camps. Earlier in the day, the team also inspected the relief materials meant for IDPs at Mini-Secretariat campus.

The team was accompanied by Dharun Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Churachandpur, Thangboi Gangte, ADC Churachandpur and other district level officials during their visit to the camps.
