Ten COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours in Manipur

Manipur recorded the highest number of single-day COVID-19 related deaths on Sunday. The state reported 10 COVID-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 273. 

As per a press release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room, out of the 10 new COVID-19 related deaths, four deaths were reported from Imphal West, three from Imphal East, and one each from Ukhrul, Bishnupur, and Kangpokpi.  Among them, one was a woman.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 infection tally of the state rose to 24,910 including 3,082 Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) as 161 fresh cases including one CAPF personnel were reported during the testing of 2,407 in the last 24 hours. Out of the fresh cases of the disease, 72 are females.

It is reported that 69 fresh cases are from Imphal West district. This district has reported the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the state. The district has 7,815 positive cases of the disease. 

Meanwhile, the press release said that all necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are being taken up.

On the other hand, the state recorded 198 more recoveries in the past 24 hours to take the recoveries tally of the state to 21,401. The tally included 2,780 CAPF personnel. The recovery rate is 85.91%.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 is 3,236, which include 298 CAPF personnel. Among them, 1,099 are under home isolation.
