Tengnoupal: Tensions gripped in and around Moreh town following the induction of more additional police commandos in Moreh town in the last few days.
Apprehensive over the induction and deployment of more police commandos in Moreh town, the women in Moreh area had been holding a peaceful sit-in-protest at Chikim village and blocked police commandos from entering Moreh town.
Some state forces numbering around 28 have been stranded since October 10 at Assam Rifle camp at KLP. The location is about 3 km from Moreh town.

Under the initiative of the commandant 26 sector Assam Rifles, the Moreh CSOs and security officers held a series of talks in the last few days. However the talks could not bring concrete solutions till today.
The Kuki Inpi Tengnoupal district had also submitted a Charter of Demand to DC Tengnoupal:
No resettlement until political solutions.
Kuki-Zo officers should be deployed in the Tengnoupal and Moreh sub-divisions.
Remove the various check-points of Meitei Meira Paibis in Kakching Lamkhai and Wangjing areas along Imphal-Moreh road who blocked essential commodities and medical items which were transported to Moreh and Tengnoupal sub-divisions.
Suspecting possible involvement of miscreants masquerading as state forces the KIT demands proper re-verification of all the state forces in the Moreh and Tengnoupal sub-division.
Maintaining that the Moreh public had apprehension about the motives of state forces the KIT also demanded restrictions on the movement of police commandos in and around Moreh. Police commandos should be stationed inside their commando complex and they should be removed from their various outpost within Moreh town.
While the district police SP stated that the police commandos who were presently stuck at KLP Assam Rifle camp and there is no induction of additional commandos in Moreh town, the Kuki Inpi Tengnoupal district demands that there should be no further induction of additional state forces in Tengnoupal and Moreh sub-divisions.
The KIT also demanded replacement of state forces by the Gorkha Regiment or any other central security forces.
The KIT further demanded DC Tengnoupal to give written assurance/response to their demands.
