Tenyimi Union Dimapur Adopts Key Resolutions on Manipur Situation

UKHRUL: The Tenyimi Union Dimapur convened an Emergency Presidential Council Meeting to address the current situation in Manipur and adopted several key resolutions. The meeting took place at the Tenyimi Union Office Complex in Dimapur on June 3.

After thorough deliberation on the challenges faced by the Naga people in Manipur and the surrounding areas, the Union unanimously adopted the following resolutions:

1. Solidarity with Naga Brothers in Manipur

   The Tenyimi Union Dimapur, along with its affiliated organizations, expressed deep sorrow and extended full solidarity to our Naga brothers and sisters in Manipur during this difficult time marked by loss of life and suffering. The Union stands firmly with the affected families and communities.

2. Condemnation of Abduction

   The Union strongly condemns the reported abduction of six Naga individuals by Kuki militants. The meeting demands their immediate and unconditional release and urges all relevant authorities to ensure their safe return as soon as possible.

3. Protection of Tenyimi Ancestral Land

   The Union resolves that any further escalation, encroachment, or unlawful activities within the ancestral lands of the Tenyimi people by any group or individuals will not be tolerated. The Union calls upon everyone to respect the historical and traditional rights of the indigenous Naga people.

4. Prevention of Illegal Influx 

   The Union expresses concern over the influx of immigrants into the Pita ancestral lands and urges the relevant authorities and traditional institutions to strictly enforce existing laws and regulations to safeguard the rights, land, and resources of the indigenous people.
