UKHRUL: On the occasion of National conclave for strengthening of Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs)/ District Rural Development Agency (DRDAs) at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi held on 3rd June 2026, Project Officer William Maram was nominated the Best Project Officer of ITDAs/DRDA from Manipur amongst the best in the country.
According to sources, Maram was nominated by TA & Hills Department, Govt of Manipur to the DAJGUA division under Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt of India. Justifying his nomination, the department noted that, during the tenure as Project Officer in District Rural Development Agency, Senapati, Manipur, William Maram s/o Late Disong of Naga Taphou village was dealing in Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act Scheme (MGNREGS), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) and Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN).
Considered sincere & capable, william played a key role in disseminating the scheme of MGNREGS to the rural populace in Senapati District, Manipur. He was involved in issuing of job cards to the eligible beneficiaries, handling MIS related works and was engaged in Social Audit, monitoring and quality management of works taken up under MGNREGS and redressing public grievances with regard to the Scheme.

In respect of PMAY-G, his main responsibility is coordinating with the State Nodal Office and Block Development Office. Managing any issues related to MIS data entry, Awaas+ reports, FTO data entry, and survey of PMAY-G Awaas+ 2024. In order to ensure that the work is executed as per the guidelines, the work is being monitored, and inspections are conducted on a regular basis under the supervision of the Project Officer. PMKSY is dealt by the said officer. His role is to prepare the Annual Action Plan, execute the approved works, inspect the completed works, and report the same to the State. He is also accountable for PM JANMAN PMAY-G for Maram tribe (PVTGs). He supervised the survey of beneficiaries and all IT related matters of the scheme. has played an important role in publicizing the scheme to the Maram tribe (PVTGs), which has impacted the tribe and community to a great extent. He is also closely monitoring the scheme.
Presently, he has prepared and submitted the detailed project report for MODEL ETHNIC HOUSING CLUSTERS for PVTGs in MANIPUR (Pilot Intervention for Culturally Appropriate Rural Housing for PVTG Communities). Apart from the regular Project Officer works, his commitment to improve the working system of DRDA Office has resulted in a more systemic flow of works.
