Chandel, July 5: The District Police, Chandel, has announced that Thumli Joyshing Monsang, Manipur’s sole Elite Referee and a dedicated police personnel, has successfully cleared the Category-I National Elite Referee Fitness Test held in Gwalior on July 5.

The National Elite Referee Fitness Test is a highly demanding assessment conducted by national football authorities, evaluating a referee’s physical endurance, agility, and readiness for officiating top-tier matches across the country.

In an official statement, the Chandel District Police extended their warmest congratulations and best wishes to Monsang. “His dedication, discipline, and excellence serve as an inspiration not only to aspiring referees but also to the youth across the state,” the statement read.

Th Joyshing Monsang’s accomplishment is a major milestone for the state, reaffirming his status among the country’s top football referees. He cleared the Category-l Referee Fitness Test back in 2022 which was held on January 11 at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

Th Joyshing Monsang’s journey as an elite referee has been marked by perseverance and passion for the game.

He is the 2nd son of Th Angpatin Monsang and Sharmila Monsang of Japhou Bazar, Chandel is the 1st and only Referee from Chandel District who has achieved the highest Category-I Referee of All India Football Federation.
