Three arrested in Nagaland in connection with Kuki outfit leader murder

Kangpokpi District Police, Cyber & Media Cell Thursday issued a press note on the arrest of three prime accused in connection with the murder of Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) Chief Janggin Baite (42) S/o (L) Tongpao Baite along with his bodyguard, Lamginlen Hangshing (22) S/o (L) Hellal Hangshing of Tingpibung village on April 29. A case was registered at Saikul Police station in regard to the gruesome murder.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Kangpokpi police comprising of Addl SP (L/O) Thangkhochon Haokip and OC Saikul PS Insp. Thangpu Kipgen under the supervision of SP Kangpokpi PG Singsit, IPS lead the arrest.

According to the press note, the accused persons were apprehended by 36 Assam Rifles at Lilen-B village of Peren district Nagaland on June 2 and brought back to Kangpokpi by the SIT. The three persons accused in the double murder case are identified as Satminthang Hangshing (34) S/o (L) Lalpao Hangshing of Lhungtin village, Lamginlal, alias Lalcha Chongloi (38) S/o Lunsat Chongloi of Lhungtin village, and Lunginhao, alias Robert Hangshing (33) S/o Jiten of Phaikon village of Kangpokpi district.

The arrested persons were produced before the court and remanded to police custody for 10 days for further investigation, it said.
