Kohima, November 14: Toyota will present the 25th edition of the Hornbill Music Festival in 2024, with Ruopfuzhano Whiso, fourth runner-up in Miss Universe India 2024, serving as the festival’s ambassador.
This announcement was made by Y. Vikheho Swu, Managing Director of Okusa Toyota, at a press conference on November 14 at the Toyota showroom in Kohima.
Swu highlighted Whiso’s role as a prominent youth icon who embodies the aspirations and pride of Naga youth. Known for her pageant achievements, Whiso symbolizes the cultural richness and dynamism of Nagaland’s younger generation.

Swu further emphasized Toyota’s commitment to supporting and promoting the cultural heritage of Nagaland. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and with contributions from key figures like Abu Metha, TAFMA Chairman Theja Meru, and Tourism Minister Imna Along, Toyota has expanded its involvement in the festival. This year, they introduced the Toyota Eco Zone, a permanent structure at Heritage Village, Kisama, managed in partnership with TAFMA. The Eco Zone will provide a year-round venue to nurture young talent, showcasing Toyota’s dedication to cultural and artistic growth beyond mere business interests.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the role, Whiso remarked on music’s power to unite people worldwide. She shared her excitement for the 2024 festival, which aims to connect Northeast India with the global stage, blending local and international music influences.
