Truck rams roadside shop in Meghalaya, youth escapes death

Shillong: A youth had a narrow escape when a truck ramped into a roadside shop in the wee hours today on the National Highway – 6 at Umrangksai in Nongpoh in Meghalaya. 

According to the information, the accident occurred in the wee hours at around 2 am, when one coke laden truck travelling from Khliehriat, Jaintia Hills to Guwahati lost control over the wheel at Umrangksai village in Nongpoh and ramped into one roadside shop resulting in huge damage to the shop.

The youth identified as Samuel Ksiar (20) was in deep sleep inside the roadside shop when the incident took place. He miraculously escaped death or any injuries. 

However, Nongpoh Traffic Police on receiving the information rushed to the spot for further enquiries.
