Tuibong Vandalism and Mob Violence: 30 Detained, Public Advised to Stay Indoor

CHURACHANDPUR: At least 30 people have been detained by Churachandpur District Police along with security forces in connection with vandalism and mob violence on Wednesday at Tuibong, Churachandpur district in Manipur, police sources said. 

As per the police, the process is on to identify those involved in the vandalism and mob violence. 

The public has been advised not to participate in mob violence, vandalism, stone throwing etc. Further, the public is advised to stay at home to avoid getting involved in such incidents to avoid unnecessary legal problems.

On Wednesday, a Mine Protected Vehicle (Cassipir) of 19 Garhwal Rifles reportedly collided with a two wheeler with a pillion rider. The injured were rushed to Churachandpur District Hospital and have been reportedly discharged after providing first aid.

Following the incident an irate mob had gathered at the spot and allegedly attempted to incite unrest, leading to damage to public property and disruption of normal life.
