The two articles released were “Introducing the Concept of Sub-syllables in the English Language and Workshop Format” and “The New Strategy of Learning Calculating Skills: Discovery of Bi-quartet Number System.” The release was formally conducted by Asish Das, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul, and Smt. Soso Shaiza, former Member of the National Commission for Women.
Speaking on the occasion, Asish Das emphasised that educational reforms such as these are crucial for societal development. “If Ukhrul is not developed, education is the main reason. Yes, there are issues like infrastructure and registration, but are they excuses? These articles are opportunities and eye-openers for schools and students,” he noted.
Sharing her impressions, Soso Shaiza praised the innovative approaches reflected in the works. She observed that the sub-syllable method introduces a more efficient way of teaching pronunciation, while the bi-quartet number system makes mathematical learning simpler and more conceptual. “Both articles move away from rote learning and encourage conceptual thinking,” she added, recalling her own interest in mathematics during her school days.

The author of the articles, Ningmareo Shimray, Lecturer at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School and recipient of the National Teachers’ Award 2021, recounted his two decades of effort in formulating and refining the concepts. “When I look back, I never believed I would develop these ideas. It took me almost 20 years to bring them to publication. I want to encourage teachers that no matter how long it may take, you can do it too. With God’s blessing, I believe my best part is yet to come,” he expressed.
Rev. Zaklei Kaping, Pastor of Phungyo Baptist Church, offered blessings through prayer, while Soyaphi Shaiza, General Secretary of HKL, Ukhrul, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the dedication of all contributors and participants.
