Ukhrul: The Deputy Commissioner’s office in Ukhrul District, situated within the Mini Secretariat Complex, has undergone a transformation with the addition of a garden. Painted stones frame flower beds filled with colorful flowers and trees, complemented by a steel railing on the eastern side. Beautiful murals on the walls contribute to a traditional ambiance.

“The flower garden originated from a desire to enhance the beauty of the DC office, ensuring it maintains a respectful atmosphere. It started as a small idea to create a relaxed space for visitors,” stated Kengoo Zuringla (IAS), Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul District.

Zuringla continued, “A group of us decided on a garden structured with stones from the rivers, aiming for an aesthetically colorful and vibrant result. During the garden’s construction, we noticed that the wall was making the area dull. This led to the idea of painting the wall with a traditional look. We used shaped broken tiles for the footpath connecting the garden. I hope the public can relax and enjoy the garden while maintaining its sanctity. I encourage everyone to avoid littering around the DC campus.”

The new look is attracting visitors, and many people can be seen admiring and taking pictures. The images of the transformation are going viral on social media, with people expressing appreciation for the garden and the Deputy Commissioner’s initiative.
