Ukhrul: NSCN WTR Destroys Mammoth Alcoholic Consignment

Ukhrul, Jan 30: As part of its efforts to combat the drug menace, the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR) seized and destroyed 266 cases of cane beer on Thursday in Ukhrul.

The confiscated items were destroyed in the presence of Tangkhul Civil Society Organizations at the WTR office campus in Ukhrul. According to NSCN WTR officials, the vehicle carrying the items was apprehended while it was being unloaded on January 24, 2025. The items were reportedly brought in from outside the state.

Notably, the NSCN WTR issued a prohibition order on January 22, 2024, to business establishments in the Ukhrul District, prohibiting the sale or storage of alcohol. The NSCN has also warned of stringent action against anyone involved in the sale of alcohol.
