Ukhrul: Phangrei Declared Safe and Tax-Free for Tourists Ahead of Shirui Lily Festival 2025

Ukhrul, May 18: The Raphei Katamnao Long (RKL) has officially announced that Phangrei remains a safe and welcoming destination for visitors ahead of the upcoming Shirui Lily Festival 2025.

Following consultations with the headmen of Lunghar and Sihai Khullen villages, the RKL confirmed that no form of tax or levy will be imposed on tourists traveling to Phangrei. The assurance comes as part of a joint commitment by the two villages and the RKL to provide a hospitable and enriching experience for all guests attending the festival.

“We are pleased to affirm that Phangrei is safe and secure, and tourists are welcome without fear of any imposed charges by the local communities,” RKL stated.

The Shirui Lily Festival, held annually in celebration of the rare and endemic Shirui Lily, is one of Manipur’s most cherished cultural events, drawing visitors from across the country and beyond.
