Unbreakable FC Triumphs in Thrilling Finale to Clinch HAOFUREVER ‘Northeast Sam-Yang Football League’ Title

The final match of the inaugural HAOFUREVER ‘Northeast Sam-Yang Football League Tournament’, organized by the Tangkhul Welfare Union, Goa, concluded on a high note on May 5, 2025, at the NFA Nagoa Futsal Arena, Nagva, Saligao. The tournament, which kicked off on March 4, 2025, brought together Northeast communities residing in Goa for two months of competitive football and celebration. The event showcased athletic excellence and highlighted a spirit of unity, camaraderie, and community bonding. The 7-a-side tournament drew widespread participation and enthusiasm, transforming the arena into a hub of cultural expression and sporting excellence.

Final Day Highlights

The final day was hosted by Wungraizan Haoshimwung and Themyaola Shatsang, who energized the crowd throughout the evening. The night featured a vibrant lineup of performances by Cherie Thorn, Thottharinwung Haoshimwung, Wungraizan Haoshimwung, and the dance group Cherie and Friends, setting the tone for an electric finale.

The Chief Guest of the final, Mrs. Lydia Yuhlung, graced the occasion along with her husband, Maximus Golmei. In keeping with tradition, the evening’s kickoff was marked by a ceremonial penalty kick by Mr. Golmei. The much-anticipated final between Unbreakable FC and One Target FC showcased thrilling gameplay and outstanding sportsmanship. In a closely contested match, Unbreakable FC emerged victorious with a 6–5 scoreline. Despite the defeat, Leiyapam Awungshi of One Target FC was awarded Player of the Match for his incredible performance, including a memorable hat-trick.

At the end of the tournament, several players were recognized for their exceptional performances:

Individual Awards:

Best Player: Mayopam Rumthao (Unbreakable FC)

Best Defender: Zingran Shiyang (Unbreakable FC)

Best Goalkeeper: Pemso Zimik (One Target FC)

In addition, the Player of the Match award was given throughout the tournament to the following standout players: Premjit Meitei, Jojob Singsit, Hashok Longpinao, Mayopam Rumthao, Alfie Thorn, Nikez Ngam, Worsing SZ, Chinaongam Kasar, Laishram Helendro, Mayonsing Chihui, Markson Mashangva, Khanthuipao Mungleng, Edimchube Newme, Zingran Shiyang, Abel Matthew, Pemso Zimik, and Leiyapam Awungshi.
