SENAPATI: An emergency Presidential Meeting of the United Naga Council (UNC) was held at the UNC Office, Senapati District Headquarters, on Saturday. The meeting commenced at 11:00 a.m. and concluded at 5:00 p.m.

A total of 28 participants attended the meeting. While the Presidential Meeting was originally intended for 21 individuals, representing the presidents of the constituent units, additional representatives from other Naga organizations also took part in the deliberations. These included members of the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM), the Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR), and the Naga Women’s Union.

The house unanimously condemned the recent mob attack on the Council office and rejected what it termed as baseless allegations against UNC President Ng. Lorho and the Council circulated on social media.

The House stated that all decisions of the UNC are collective and made through due consultation with stakeholders, adding that attempts to target individual leaders for collective decisions are unjustified and contrary to the organization’s traditions.

It also reaffirmed its full faith and confidence in President Ng. Lorho and his team, pledging continued support for their leadership.
