Veterinary department distributed chickens to all the former autonomous district councillors in a simple function held at caretaker chairman quarter in Ukhrul on Wednesday with strict observation of Covid SOPs.
Dr Yaronsho Ngalung, Caretaker Chairman ADC Ukhrul distributed chickens to all the 125 selected beneficiaries in the presence of veterinary department ADC, Ukhrul, Dr. Hemba Singh and staffs, among others.
Dr Ngalung while thanking minister of veterinary department for the provision of poultry to the DCC beneficiaries, made a clarion call to the state government to provide all the required items like pig, calf and goat etc, to the six ADCs of Manipur effective next financial year.
“We are positively looking forward to avail all such provisions in the coming financial year as all these provisions comes under power devolution of ADC, which according to Yaronsho, successive state government are suppose to provide to the six ADCs for the Hill tribals of Manipur.
Recently, Dr Ngalung, caretaker had urged the state government to conduct elections of the six Autonomous district Councils (ADCs) of Manipur hills district as soon as the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation improves in the State for local self-government to function smoothly.
