Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament Awareness Campaign Held in Tamenglong

Ukhrul, Mar 12: The Organising Committee of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament (VBYP) 2025, Tamenglong College, conducted a mass awareness campaign today at Tamenglong district HQ. The campaign was flagged off by Dr. Kinthuijinang Maremmei, Principal of Tamenglong College, visiting various locations including the Mini Secretariat (DC Office), ADC Office, ZEO Office, SDO Office, CMO Office, and a few market places.

During the awareness program, Dr. L. Angshim Dangshawa, IAS, DC Tamenglong, urged the youths to register on the mybharat.gov.in portal to participate in this significant event. N. Abonpou Christopher, ZEO Tamenglong and a member of the Organising Committee, also appealed to the youths to participate in this youth parliament.

Notably, while the team was organising the mass awareness campaign at the Open Restaurant near Rani Gaidinliu Women’s Market, Dipu Gangmei (IAS retd.), MLA Nungba AC, along with Ramning Pame and Hathing Doungel, ex-MDCs, visited the team and encouraged them to give their best for the success of the event.

According to a press statement by Ngamtinlun Touthang, IT Nodal Officer, Tamenglong College, the campaign team includes seven teachers and 15 NSS Volunteers led by Makhou Gangmei, NSS-PO. Other members included Namsurei Thomas Kamei, IQAC Coordinator; NG Tuakeulung; Dr. S. Solomon, and Ngampingampou Gonmei.

It is worth noting that awareness campaigns at the college level were organized twice at Tamenglong College on March 6 and 10, 2025. The last date for online registration at the MyBharat portal (mybharat.gov.in) is March 16, 2025, and the district-level youth parliament is tentatively scheduled to be held at Tamenglong College on March 21, 2025.

Tamenglong has been chosen as one of the six Nodal districts of Manipur, with Jiribam serving as its associate district and Mr. N. Sat Lian Joy, DYO, NYKS, as the overall in-charge.
