LEIMAKHONG: SEP 29: On the occasion of World Heart Day, Red Shield Division, under the aegis of the Indian Army, conducted an informative-cum-interactive awareness session at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Leimakhong Military Station, with the aim of sensitising young minds to heart health and equipping them with basic life-saving skills.
The session was attended by 67 students of Class XI and two teachers. Through interactive discussions and educational videos, participants were introduced to the importance of cardiovascular health, recognition of medical emergencies and the need for timely intervention during cardiac arrest.

A key highlight of the programme was a live demonstration of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Students were familiarised with the basic steps involved in assessing an emergency, seeking timely assistance and initiating CPR. The interactive format encouraged active participation and helped build confidence among students in responding appropriately during a medical emergency.
The initiative sought to create greater awareness among students about heart health while reinforcing the importance of early recognition and prompt action in life-threatening situations.
The programme reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to health awareness, community outreach and empowering young minds with essential life-saving knowledge and skills.
