IMPHAL: Tipaimukh MLA Ngursanglur Sanate, along with representatives of civil society organisations (CSOs) from Pherzawl district, met chief minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Tuesday and raised several issues concerning the area, including road connectivity, electricity, banking services and the proposed Pherzawl Autonomous District Council (ADC).
The delegation sought the upgradation of the Jiribam–Tipaimukh road from a district road to National Highway status, stating that the road would provide an important link between NH-37 and NH-102 and improve connectivity between Jiribam, Tipaimukh and adjoining areas.

It also sought the proposed power-line connection from Sipuikaun Power Station to Parbung and extension of electricity supply to other areas through proposed power-line connections.
The delegation further called for the establishment of a bank in the area, citing difficulties faced by residents due to the absence of banking facilities.
Issues concerning the proposed Pherzawl ADC were also raised, with the delegation conveying the concerns and aspirations of the people regarding its establishment.
Responding to the delegation, the chief minister said peace should remain the priority, stressing that restoration of peace and stability was essential for taking forward development and administrative processes. He assured the delegation that the issues raised would be examined and necessary action taken.

The delegation included representatives of ITAC Pherzawl & Jiribam, Hmar Inpui Hmarram Region and Hmar Inpui Vangai Region, including ITAC secretary Hrlihmingthang Buhril, Hmar Inpui Hmarram Region president Upa Ramdinglien, secretary Zaihmingthang and Hmar Inpui Vangai Region president Rothangkhum.
The government also noted that a peace initiative involving representatives of the Meitei and Hmar communities, held in Jiribam in April in the presence of the chief minister, had contributed to maintaining peace and harmony between the two communities.
