The Zeliangrong Students’ Union, Delhi (ZSUD) on Wednesday issued a press statement extending its solidarity and condolences to the bereaved family members on the killing of three persons from Lamhai Namdi village by unidentified assailants at Peren district on March 22 and said it was shocked and dismayed to learn about the incident.

ZSUD, terming the cold blooded killing an “inhuman massacre” upon unarmed and unsuspected farmers by a group of fully armed men with sophisticated weapons said, it is a worst form of cowardice and that such barbaric act has no place in civilized society.

The Student Union said that the alleged scale and gravity of these attacks such as cutting of limbs and burning them after killing is the most barbaric and horrifying act, adding that no cause can justify such brutality and senseless killing, it said.

Calling on the law enforcement agencies to bring the perpetrators accountable to bring justice to this heinous crime, ZSUD appealed the government to book the culprits and punish them.

The press statement also appealed to all the Naga National Workers, irrespective of organizations to come forward in cooperation in arresting the culprits for befitting punishment.

“This is the time to show your commitment and integrity if you ever claim to be working for the interest of the Nagas. Your silence and turning a blind eye to this heinous crime happening under your own nose would be taken by the Zeilangrong people and the Nagas in general as an endorsement and encouragement to such criminals,” it said.

ZSUD said that any misunderstanding should be resolved amicably through mutual discussion without resorting to violence.
