ZRO in a statement issued on Monday said Th. Muivah’s return to his birthplace after decades in exile is “a moment of joy,” describing him as a leader who has endured great hardship and sacrifice for the cause of his people.

ZRO hailed Muivah as a visionary leader whose decision to enter into a ceasefire with the Government of India reflected his commitment to a peaceful and negotiated political settlement.

“ZRO wishes that a lasting and honourable political solution will be achieved sooner than later,” the statement read.
