10 additional doctors joins Ukhrul District Hospital to fight COVID-19

Ukhrul District Hospital on Monday inducted 10 doctors on contractual basis for a period of six months.

A report from The Aja Daily local news paper, Ukhrul, speaking to CMO Dr Kapangring A Shimray informed that “The 10 contractual doctors will be paid a fixed remuneration of Rs 75,000 per month by the health department of Manipur. Out of the 10 doctors, seven are male and three are female doctors. Their role will be to manage Covid Isolation Ward at Ukhrul District Hospital”.

Dr Michael Kadah

Dr Mungvah Chonreipem

Dr Ng Ngajokpa Martin

Dr Pairson PM

Dr Phungangam Kamei

Dr Soreishang Shinrah

Dr Sorinchan Khaleng

Dr Th Polan

Dr Urthem Shaiza

Meanwhile, an order of the state Home department issued late Monday extended the ongoing curfew which was due to end on May 17 till May 28 with additional permitted activities and restrictions.

The Tangkhul Co-ordination Forum on Covid-19 (TCFC) committee on May 15, also extended “Total Lockdown” in Ukhrul district for another week from May 16 till May 22.
