Ukhrul, January 8: In a swift and commendable operation, the Assam Rifles said it successfully rescued 14 victims of a tragic accident near Mapum village in Ukhrul district.
The incident occurred when a Mahindra Pick-up vehicle reportedly veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge, leaving its occupants severely injured.

Responding with urgency, the Assam Rifles unit stationed at Mapum village, accompanied by a medical team, reached the accident site promptly. AR said their rapid action ensured the victims were extricated from the wreckage and provided with immediate medical aid.
After stabilizing the injured, the Assam Rifles team facilitated their evacuation to the District Hospital in Ukhrul for advanced treatment. Their professionalism and efficient coordination played a vital role in ensuring the victims received timely care.
