3,093 COVID-19 cases: Manipur

UT News Service | Imphal, August 5: The total number of COVID-19 cases in Manipur rose to 3,093 including 1224 active cases and 1862 recovered cases, official reports of the state Health department said. Thirty-three personnel of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) are among the 75 fresh COVID-19 cases reported in Manipur on Wednesday.

Out of the 75 new cases, 42 persons are from the general population, 13 each are from Imphal West and East districts, 11 from Thoubal district, two from Chandel district and one each from Churachandpur and Bishnupur district. 39 are locals without any significant travel history even though the rest three are returnees, official report showed.

The good news is, 48 persons were discharged after they were found COVID-19 free during the latest RT PCR test, in the last 24hrs, the report said. As per the status update report on COVID-19 of the state Health department, the fresh cases of COVID-19 were detected during testing of 1,716 samples.

A total of 92,617 samples have been subjected to COVID-19 test in the state so far.
