Restrictions extended till June 11 in Manipur

While permitting some additional activities, the State Government has extended the restrictions imposed due to COVID-19 by another 14 days till June 11.

An order to this effect was issued Friday.

Notably, the Government had first imposed curfew in districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul and restrictions including inter-district movements in other districts on May 17.

Earlier the said areas were declared as containments zones on April 29.

The additional permitted activities as per the order today include–
Vehicle workshops of goods trucks, petrol tankers, LPG bullets etc outside the Imphal Municipal area may open from 8 am to 3 pm on all days.

Rice mills are also allowed to open subject to taking adequate precaution and strictly following Covid Appropriate behaviour.

Opening of local vegetable vendors from 7 am to 10 am for purchase by locals on May 30, June 2, June 5 and June 8.The vendors should be seated at least 6 feet away from one another and should wear face masks all the time.

Only one out of three grocery shops of the total shops/vendors in one location shall be allowed to open on rotational basis from 7 am to 10 am on May 30, June 2, June 5 and June 8.

If the shops or vendors are located in congested rows then only alternate rows shall be allowed to open.

Shops on major roads like NH may open on both sides.

Queue system should be adopted by all shops/vendors.

Wholesale shops of grocery and food essentials located in Thangal bazar and Masjid road will be allowed to open from 7 am to 12 pm as follows–
May 31- Thangal bazar for retailers of Imphal West
May 31-Masjid road for retailers of Imphal East
June 1-Thangal bazar for retailers of Senapati, Kangpokpi
June 1-Masjid road for retailers of Kamjong, Noney
June 3-Thangal bazar for retailers of Ukhrul, Bishnupur
June 3-Masjid road for retailers of Tamenglong
June 4-Thangal bazar for retailers of Thoubal, Kakching
June 4-Masjid for retailers of Chandel, Tengnoupal
June 6-Thangal bazar for retailers of Churachandpur
June 6-Masjid road for retailers of Pherzawl, Jiribam
June 7-Imphal West for Imphal West and Imphal East for Imphal East.

**Deputy Commissioners may issue movement passes for the retailers.

All Secretariat offices to start functioning with e-office and physical attendance of 15 per cent of staff from June 1.

All Directorate offices to start functioning with physical attendance of 15 percent staff from June 1 by taking adequate precaution and strictly following Covid Appropriate Behaviours.

Departments like Media, Power, fire Service, PHED, CAFPD, Home, Health, Relief & Disaster Management, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Finance and Treasuries and Police Departments and district administration will continue to function as before.

Life Insurance Corporation with limited staff on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 2.30 pm to dispose of time bound works.
