Ukhrul: NCC Organizes Combined Annual Training Camp at St. Joseph College

Ukhrul, Jan 28: The 65 (M) Girls Bn NCC Imphal has organized a Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at St. Joseph College, Ukhrul, from January 28 to February 3, 2025. The camp brings together 34 National Cadet Corps (NCC) Senior Wings (girls) cadets from St. Joseph College and Pettigrew College, who are in their 2nd and 3rd years and will be appearing for their B and C certificates this year.

The opening ceremony of the CATC saw the presence of two PI staff members, Sub P Patra and Hav Rajesh Thapa, as well as two ANO members, Leut. Rinngamla Shimrah and Leut. Chonchui CS. Additionally, two policewomen and one policeman from Ukhrul police station were present to ensure security.

The training camp will cover a wide range of topics, including national integration, leadership traits, hygiene and sanitation, disaster management, and life skills such as decision-making, problem-solving, and personality development. The cadets also received training in special subjects like map reading, conventional signs and military symbols, field and battle craft, and cyber and mobile security awareness.

The NCC’s objective is to develop the physical, intellectual, and moral dimensions of society, and to mold individuals into well-rounded personalities with a strong sense of civic responsibility and commitment to community service. The CATC is an integral part of the NCC’s training program, aiming to introduce cadets to a regimented way of life and provide them with practical institutional training and life skills.
