NCC’s CATC-140 Concludes with Grand Success in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, February 5: The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)-140 of the 65(M) Girls Battalion, conducted by the National Cadet Corps (NCC), successfully concluded on February 5, 2025, at Ukhrul. The camp was held from January 28 to February 3, 2025, witnessed the participation of enthusiastic cadets from various colleges.

The closing ceremony took place at St. Joseph College, Ukhrul, with the Group Commandant delivering the closing address online. The event was followed by an award ceremony, where deserving cadets were recognized for their outstanding performances.

Awards and Recognitions

Best Cadet Award: Cadet Chiphang Yinchisin, daughter of Chiphan Ningmi and Muivah Wungshimla from Hunphun village, Awungtang Ukhrul, Manipur, and a student of St. Joseph College, was conferred with the Best Cadet Award.

2nd Best Cadet Award: Cadet Lummichon Luithui, daughter of L.Shomi from Langdang village, and a student of St. Joseph College, received the 2nd Best Cadet Award.

Commanding Officer’s Commendation Card: Snchon Rainam, daughter of RN Luckyson from Phalee village, a student of Pettigrew College, and S. Sita, daughter of S. Saila from Litan Sareikhong, a student of Pettigrew College, were awarded the Commanding Officer’s Commendation Card.

The awards were distributed by Peter Horam, Vice Principal of Pettigrew College, and Rev. Dr. Fr. Parvis John, Principal of St. Joseph College. Both dignitaries encouraged the cadets to seize opportunities and strive for excellence.

The CATC-140 camp concluded on a high note, with cadets gaining valuable experience and skills. The event demonstrated the NCC’s commitment to fostering discipline, unity, and leadership among the country’s youth.

In a separate event held today, February 5, 2025, a weapon display was conducted at 18 Assam Rifles C coy, attended by Sub P Patra, JCO; Hv Rajesh Thapa of 65 (M) Girls Bn NCC Imphal; Lieut. Rinngamla Shimrah, ANO Pettigrew college; and Lieut. Chonchui CS ANO, St. Joseph College Ukhrul. The display featured an array of weapons, including the 7.62MM AK-47, 5.56 MM INS Rifle, 5.56 MM INS LMG, 51 MM MOR, 7.62 MM medium machine Gun, and 84 MM rocket launcher. Cadets were also given the opportunity to try their hands on these weapons under the supervision of experienced.
