Imphal: In the early hours of Thursday, an abandoned house and a shop in Jiribam District’s Uchathol were engulfed in flames.

According to sources, the fire incident occurred around 12:30 am. The shop was located adjacent to the house.

Upon receiving information from locals about the fire, a team from Jiri Fire Station promptly arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames. Though the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, some speculate that unidentified miscreants may have deliberately set fire to the house and shop, taking advantage of security lapses and adverse weather conditions.
