Arunachal MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom Visits College of Fisheries in Tripura

Agartala: Aimed at encouraging scientific learning and sustainable development in the fisheries sector, Arunachal Pradesh BJP State General Secretary and Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom paid a visit to the College of Fisheries in Tripura on Wednesday. He was accompanied by the District Planning Officer (DPO) and Executive Engineer (EE), PWD Namsai.

During his visit, Namchoom engaged in detailed discussions with the college’s Dean and Department Heads. The interaction touched upon several critical areas of fisheries science, including aquaculture, fish nutrition, aquatic health management, resource utilization, and post-harvest technology. These discussions, he noted, provided “a well-rounded view of modern fisheries education and research.”

He praised the academic environment and research-driven approach of the institution, underlining the importance of practical, hands-on learning for students pursuing professional courses in the fisheries domain. “The practical exposure provided to students at the institution through such real-time demonstrations will greatly enhance their learning and understanding of aquatic life,” he said.

“This kind of education empowers our youth to contribute rightfully to sustainable fisheries practices,” he added.

A significant highlight of the visit was Namchoom’s interaction with students from Arunachal Pradesh who are currently studying at the institute. Engaging with the young aspirants, the MLA expressed deep satisfaction at their commitment toward the field of fisheries.

“It’s encouraging to witness our youth embracing professional courses with such dedication,” he said.

“I firmly believe that the academic exposure and practical training they receive here will equip them to contribute meaningfully to sustainable and innovative fishery practices in our state,” he added.

Namchoom also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the college’s faculty and administration for their warm welcome and for sharing their knowledge and ongoing efforts in the advancement of fisheries science. “Sincere thanks to the Dean and faculty for their warm reception and for sharing their knowledge and commitment to advancing fisheries science,” he stated.
