Agartala: Aimed at encouraging scientific learning and sustainable development in the fisheries sector, Arunachal Pradesh BJP State General Secretary and Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom paid a visit to the College of Fisheries in Tripura on Wednesday. He was accompanied by the District Planning Officer (DPO) and Executive Engineer (EE), PWD Namsai.

During his visit, Namchoom engaged in detailed discussions with the college’s Dean and Department Heads. The interaction touched upon several critical areas of fisheries science, including aquaculture, fish nutrition, aquatic health management, resource utilization, and post-harvest technology. These discussions, he noted, provided “a well-rounded view of modern fisheries education and research.”

He praised the academic environment and research-driven approach of the institution, underlining the importance of practical, hands-on learning for students pursuing professional courses in the fisheries domain. “The practical exposure provided to students at the institution through such real-time demonstrations will greatly enhance their learning and understanding of aquatic life,” he said.

“This kind of education empowers our youth to contribute rightfully to sustainable fisheries practices,” he added.
