Chandel DVO Observes World Veterinary Day 2026

CHANDEL: The District Veterinary Office, Chandel on Saturday observed the World Veterinary Day, 2026 in a simple manner by conducting a Health Camp Cum Free Vaccination Drive at Lamphoupasna Village in Chandel district.

Observed under the theme, “Veterinarians : Guardians of Food and Health”, the team, led by Dr. Sumita, began the observation via a vaccination drive from 7 in the morning.

As part of the observation, around 40 dogs were vaccinated.

A district veterinary officer said that the day was observed with a highlight on veterinarians to emphasize their importance and the vital role they play in food safety, security, public health, and animal welfare.

The officer maintained that such free vaccination campaigns and drives are being held from time to time to help prevent animals from being infected with sickness or diseases.

Animal lovers and owners in the village were also advised on maintaining good health of the animals through healthy food and vaccination from time to time.

The teams advised those who came for the vaccination to follow up with later doses so as to maintain the health of the dogs.
