Churachandpur: CRPF Organises CAP at Matijang village

CHURACHANDPUR: With an aim to uplift the welfare and livelihood under their operations area, the Alpha Battalion of 58th CRPF Churachandpur on Wednesday organised a Civic Action Programme at Matijang village football ground, Churachandpur district, Manipur.

This  was their second Civic Action Programme after the A-58th Bn CRPF was conferred the best performing Battalion among all the CRPF battalions in the entire Northeast India, for their work in repairing village road, organising Free Medical camp in remote areas, helping to build school buildings/infrastructures, maintenance of water supply in different village, among others.

On Wednesday, materials, including sewing machines, solal street  lights, and sports materials for school students were distributed to seven clusters of villages in Churachandpur district by the DIGP Range Churachandpur Ghanshyam Behwal and other officials at the distribution ground.

Acting as chief guest, the DIGP, Range Churachandpur said that the programme was not barely for distribution of materials but aimed at contributing to the livelihood of the people to live in peace, promoting national integration and promoting understanding. He said the sewing machines will upgrade the livelihood of many, while the street lights for the betterment of different villages and the sports goods will promote good health and keep the students away from social ills. The chief guest also thanked the participants for reciprocating their noble gesture.

Village chief of Matajang Thangkhopau also lauded the CRPF for their efforts in helping the needy which he said was immensely helping the poor villagers, including his village. Sources said that Wednesday’s programme was the culmination of the A-58th Bn. CRPF efforts to, at least, organise two CAP in a calendar year involving as many villages in their operations areas.
