Speaking to reporters, KCP chairman Taibanganba said the group had been in the mainstream before the crisis began in May 2023. However, following the outbreak of the crisis, they were compelled to take up arms again to protect and guard the people, he said.

He said the group decided to return to the mainstream once again as normalcy is gradually returning to the state.

Taibangamba said people had also been suggesting that the group return to the mainstream. He said the group listened to the people’s appeal, adding that they consider the voice of the people as the voice of god.

The programme was attended by senior ministers, civil administration officials, DGp, Manipur Police personnel, security forces and other dignitaries.
