AIZAWL (SHABD): Chief Minister Lalduhoma has described All India Radio (AIR) Aizawl as a trusted companion of the people, a reliable source of news, and an important provider of public information.
In his message marking the Diamond Jubilee of AIR Aizawl, the Chief Minister said the station had served the people with dedication and commitment over the past 60 years. He noted that AIR Aizawl has consistently delivered news, music, and a wide range of informative and engaging programmes, and commended its staff for their exemplary service.
Lalduhoma said AIR Aizawl had remained steadfast despite numerous challenges over the past six decades. He expressed his appreciation that the station had continued to function smoothly without any major disruption. He also acknowledged the close working relationship between the Mizoram Government and AIR Aizawl, describing the broadcaster’s achievements over the past 60 years as commendable. He extended his best wishes for its continued growth and success in the years ahead.

Governor Gen (Retd.) Vijay Kumar Singh has described AIR Aizawl as an important institution for preserving the identity, traditions, and cultural heritage of diverse communities.
In his message marking the Diamond Jubilee of AIR Aizawl, the Governor said the station had served the public with distinction over the past 60 years by providing reliable news and entertaining listeners through music and a variety of programmes. He said radio continued to hold an important place in people’s lives because of the trust it had earned over the decades.
The Governor noted that during the difficult period of insurgency in Mizoram, official announcements broadcast by All India Radio were regarded as a highly trusted source of information. He added that AIR had played a significant role in preserving Mizo identity and cultural traditions, and that radio continued to enjoy a loyal audience despite rapid technological advancements.
Governor Gen (Retd.) Vijay Kumar Singh further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly address to the nation, broadcast through All India Radio, was widely appreciated. He noted that radio remained an effective medium for disseminating government information because it broadcasts in multiple languages and reaches even the most remote areas. Congratulating AIR Aizawl on completing 60 years of service, the Governor extended his best wishes for the station’s continued growth and success in the years ahead.
