Correction on June 22 news report: No Kuki militants involved in N Boljeng village gunfight

Imphal: After receiving reports of fierce gun-battle between combined security forces and suspected Kuki militants, that lasted several hours, injuring at least four people, including two jawan of the 44th Assam Rifles [names withhold] near Olympian Park in L Boljang village under Kangpokpi district on Thursday, Ukhrul Times upon further investigation has concluded that there was no Kuki militants involved in this particular confrontation — only armed miscreants were involved.

Ukhrul Times regrets the urgency in publishing the news item 2 jawan, 2 others injured in fresh gunfight with suspected Kuki militants in Olympian Park.

As of today, there is no confirmation of militants casualty from any sources, except news reports in some print dailies and TVs.

As per the Indian Army, one Insas light machine gun was recovered.

Calibrated response by own troops to avoid any collateral damage. Two soldiers sustained minor injuries- both stable. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗔𝗦 𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗚𝗨𝗡 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵.
