CoTU Marks One Year Observance at Martyr Cemetery, Advocates Separate Administration for Kuki-Zo tribals

Ukhrul: The Committee on Tribal Unity, Kangpokpi today observed the completion of one-year at the Martyr Cemetery in Phaijang to mark the year long conflict which erupted on May 3, 2023, with no sign of resolution.

The CoTU said it has been spearheading the cause for the kindered tribes of Kuki-Zo community.

NG. Lun Kipgen, the spokesperson for the CoTU, emphasized the significance of this observance, noting that it has gained legitimacy in light of the current administration’s failure to address accountability regarding the conflict. He pointed out that both the Central and State governments have turned a blind eye towards the conflict.

He also said that “one of the greatest Democratic Nation such as India, somewhere in the North East have teetered towards Talibanisation.”

The CoTU at the Martyr Cemetery in Phaijang on Friday further stated “it is constrained to emphasize this observance to marked our legitimate demand for Seperate Administration.”
