Following the incident that occurred around 7.30 pm, the district administrations of Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Kakching cancelled the curfew relaxation in their respective districts as a preventive measure.

Earlier on orders of the district administrations, the curfew was to be relaxed till 10 pm.

Besides, the curfew was not relaxed in the five districts for the day (Tuesday) owing to which normal life was greatly affected.

The functioning of the court was also exempted from the imposition of a curfew.

No untoward incident was reported during the curfew hours in any part of the curfew-imposed districts, the police said.
