DESAM Demands Govt Teachers to Stop Choosing Comfortable Posting Areas

The Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), speaking to media at its office in Kwakeithel Tuesday demanded government teachers to stop choosing comfortable posting areas. DESAM said, teachers who are unwilling to take assigned posting should resign if they cannot serve at their designated posting areas.

DESAM President N. Edison told media that most students prefer to study in Educational Institutions located in Imphal as Government teachers are concentrated in Greater Imphal.

Edison further said, students storm at only some selected schools and colleges in Imphal for admission to class 11 and 1st Semester while few students approach Educational Institutions located away from the city.

He appealed the government to rectify the loopholes in this regard, added that eligible DESAM volunteers are willing to teach students in schools lacking teachers.
