Manipur’s Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, the 26-year-old Indian weightlifter who opened India’s tally in wining the first silver medal in the 49kg category on Saturday in Tokyo Olympics will be treated to free lifetime pizza. The weightlifter had said she was looking forward to enjoying a pizza after her win.
Mirabai Chanu in an interview with NDTV, had said the first thing she wanted to do after returning was to eat a pizza. Dominos India, the the pizza chain responded promptly.

Mirabai Chanu lifted a total of 202kg (87kg+115kg) winning her silver medal at the weightlifting arena in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. Hou Zhihui of China clinched the gold medal with an effort of 210kg (94kg+116kg) while bronze went to Aisah Windy Cantika of Indonesia with an effort of 194kg (84kg+110kg).
Manipur government will award the 26-year-old Rs. 1 crore for her silver medal and a state government job.
The state government on June 28, 2021 announced that it would hand over a cash award of Rs. 1.2 crore to gold medal winners, Rs. 1 crore for silver medal winners and Rs. 75 lakh for bronze medal winners at the Tokyo Olympics from the State.
