Imphal: Union minister of Law and Justice, Kiren Rijiju informed today in Imphal that one of the meetings of the G20 summit to be hosted by India will be held in Loktak Lake in Manipur.
“So, the state government of Manipur and the Central government are planning very well to make the G20 summit here in Imphal as one of the memorable ones,” he said.
The Union minister who was on a two-day visit to Manipur and paid visits to various tourist spots like Loktak Lake, INA Memorial Complex, Keibul Lamjao National Park, the only floating national park in the world and home to the Sangai deer, etc. in Bishnupur district on his last day of the visit today.
Accompanied by Arunachal Pradesh chief minister, Pema Khandu, Manipur MP Leishemba Sanajaoba and some ministers of Manipur, the Union minister also inspected the work progress of the development of INA (Indian National Army) headquarters during the World War–II.

The INA headquarters located at Moirang Konjengbam Leikai was recently taken over by the Central government and the development of the site as a world class tourism spot is in progress.
The Union minister also paid a floral tribute to the status of Netaji Subashchandra Bose at INA Memorial Complex.
Talking to reporters at the concluding part of his visit, Kiren Rijiju said that Manipur is changing very fast toward the positive side.
Even in the Loktak Lake, there have been remarkable changes since his last visit, he also said.
“The Manipur government has very good plans to clean the biggest freshwater lake in the northeast region of the country, to make it more beautiful and also to create facilities for the visitors to come and feel the enchanting natural beauty of the lake”, he said.

Loktak Lake, the lifeline of the people living in the surrounding area of the lake, has so much natural potential to attract tourists, he said.
Talking about the recently concluded Manipur Sangai Festival, the Union minister said that the festival not only exposed Manipur tourism potential of the state but also the entire northeast region.
“I am told that the flow of tourists has increased manifolds during the festival. It is good news not only for Manipur but also for the northeast region,” he said.
