Global Human Rights Defenders Honoured at 15th Summit

NEW DELHI: The All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties & Social Justice (AICHLS) hosted the 15th International Human Rights Summit & Awards 2025 at the India Islamic Cultural Centre on December 10, bringing together a distinguished assembly of national and international leaders committed to promoting peace, justice, dignity, and human rights worldwide.

AICHLS, led by Anthony Raju, Advocate of the Supreme Court of India and internationally accredited human rights defender, witnessed one of its most well-attended events, with the hall filled to capacity. The summit commenced with a soulful cultural performance by students of Mount St. Mary’s School, Delhi Cantt, setting an inspiring tone for the evening.

The International Human Rights Awards 2025 were conferred by prominent dignitaries, including Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah, Maj. Gen. Dr. Rajan Kochchar, Dr. N. C. Wadhwa (IAS), Dr. Binny Sareen, Bro. Tomy Varghese, Dr. Manoj Batra, Maj. Rishi Mohan, Maj. (Dr.) M. H. Ali Shah, among several other esteemed personalities.

A message of peace from Syedi Qaidjoher Bhaisaheb Ezzuddin was read out during the ceremony, drawing heartfelt appreciation for its spiritual depth and call for harmony and unity.

This year’s awards honoured exemplary individuals from diverse fields for their unwavering commitment to humanity. Notable awardees included Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, the 77th custodian of the House of Mewar; eminent oncologist Dr. Meenu Walia; Dr. Lamiya Behn (USA); Dr. Siraz Natawala (London); Swagatika Patra (London); Dr. Depanker Dass; Ms. Sumera Khan; journalist Meera Parida; globally recognised transgender activist Mr. Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal, along with several other distinguished achievers.

The event concluded with a fellowship dinner, marking yet another milestone in AICHLS’s ongoing mission to uphold, protect, and promote human rights across the world.
