Governor appoints new Secretary and Controller of Examination of BOSEM

The Joint Secretary of Board Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) Dr S. Mangijao Singh, has been appointed as the Secretary (In-charge) of the Board by the Governor of Manipur.

An official order issued by Deputy Secretary of Education (S) Bidyarani Ayekpam on Saturday said that the Governor made the arrangement “in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 5(2) of the Manipur Secondary Education Act, 1972” and added that Mr Singh will hold the office “without any extra remuneration”.

Another order by Education (S) Deputy Secretary also announced the appointment of Shri L. Mangi Singh, who is currently holding the post of Deputy Secretary of Board Secondary Education, Manipur, as the Controller of Examination of the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur.

Both the appointments will come into force “with immediate effect and until further orders in public interest”, said the orders.

The posts of Secretary and Controller of Examination of the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) had been lying vacant since December 28 after the expiry of their tenure on December 27, which has attracted hue and cry from student organizations such as DESAM and ATSUM in the past few weeks.
