Health Camp Conducted in Remote Makui Village After Reported Viral Outbreak

UKHRUL, SEP 6: A health camp was organised by the 112 Battalion CRPF in collaboration with the Kangpokpi district administration and the chief medical officer’s (CMO) office on September 4 at remote Makui village in the IT Road-Twilang area under T. Waichong Sub-Division of Kangpokpi district.

According to the CRPF, the camp was organised following reports of an outbreak of viral diseases in Makui village and the wider IT Road-Twilang area. Around 80 villagers, including elderly people and children, were examined during the camp and provided with medicines, the CRPF said.

Medical officer and assistant commandant of the 112 Battalion CRPF Dr Durgesh, along with medical officer of PHC T. Waichong Dr Md Arif and paramedical staff, conducted the health camp.

The CRPF further said no positive cases of malaria, typhoid or dengue were detected during the mass check-up.

The villagers, who reportedly have limited access to healthcare facilities and medical personnel, expressed gratitude to the 112 Battalion CRPF, Kangpokpi district administration and CMO’s office for organising the camp.
