UKHURL: Amid tension in Ukhrul District, the Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) 2026 began peacefully at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School (UHSS), Winotang Ukhrul examination centre, on Monday.

According to A.S. Josiah, Principal of Ukhrul Higher Secondary School, a total of 252 students from KTL School appeared for the examination at the centre, with no absentee reported. He stated that the examinations were conducted smoothly, with invigilators carrying out their duties diligently.

“This is a sign that Ukhrul is really turning into a study centre with this fine exam performance,” the principal remarked, while wishing the students success in the days ahead.

An examination invigilator, Wunganing A.S., Physics lecturer at UHSS, noted an improvement in student conduct compared to previous years. “The students behaved better this time. There were no incidents of unfair means. They remained quiet throughout the three hours of my invigilation duty,” he said.

Students also expressed satisfaction with the first day of the examination. “Today was our first day of the HSE examination. We appeared for the English paper. The examination was a good one,” said Shaingamphy, a candidate.

Hunphun Katamnao Long (HKL) extends its best wishes to all students of Class X and Class XII appearing for the board examinations, and hopes that their hard work, dedication, and perseverance will lead them to outstanding success.
