UKHRUL: An Indian Army team from the Eastern Command has become the first to scale Mount Kangto, Arunachal Pradesh’s highest peak at 7,042 metres, a defence spokesperson said on Friday.

The 18-member team was flagged off on November 3 by the GOC of Gajraj Corps and undertook an extremely demanding journey marked by rarefied air, severe sub-zero temperatures, treacherous icy ridges, deep crevasses and near-vertical ice walls
