Investiture program of Upa Ng. Roland Monshang as Rampuh (Assistant Chief) held

Chandel, Jan 27: The investiture program of Upa Ng. Roland Monshang as Rampuh (Assistant Chief) of Liwachangning Village Authority, Chandel was held on Saturday at LiwaChangning public ground.

The function was attended by Upa Mayanglambam Rajkumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Chandel as chief guest, Upa Hemant Pandey, IPS, SP, Chandel, Sanuw Honey Chara, Director, Hort.& Soil Con. Manipur as guest of honour and Upa Ng. Benithan, President, Sirti Upa Ruh (SUR) as functional president respectively. Monsang village chiefs, pastors, association leaders, civil society leaders from Monsang and neighbouring community also attended the function among many other.

Upa Kumar Khartu, Chief of Liwachangning Village and Rev. Ts. Morison, Pastor of Liwachangning Baptist Church led the oath taking and pastoral blessing ceremony upon Upa Ng. Roland Monshang as Rampuh. Both the minister highlighted on “the origin and importance of good governance and strong leadership and emphasized that authority is from God”.

Upa Ng. Benithan in his speech recalled the glorious years of Liwachangning Village in the field of politics and education within and outside the Monsang community in Chandel district. Late Ng. Mono Monsang, father of Ng. Roland Monshang was the first MLA of Chandel then Tengnoupal in 1948. During the 1983 Republic Day Celebration in New Delhi, the Liwachangning cultural dance troupe also presented Monsang Folk Dance from Manipur state. The recent success of Ts. Olinda Monsang, 7th position Arts Stream, CoHSEM Examination 2022 and Rumeen Ngoruh, 10th position in B.A Anthropology 2022 from Women’s College Shillong NEHU are some reasons why Liwachangning has occupied an importance space in the field of education in the area.

Mayanglambam Rajkumar in his speech mentioned that Liwachangning rich legacy in the field of education should be behold and continue further to excel higher goals for the good of the community and the district. Leaders should be committed for the welfare and prosperity of the people, he remarked. The other dignitaries expresses their profound gratitude for the kind invitation and wish the new leader and the village authority team the best of luck in coming days.

Upa Ng. Roland Monshang in his speech thank the search committee for reposing their faith on him to be Rampuh (Asst Chief) of the village. He expressed his profound gratitude to all the well wishers, leaders, dignitaries for sparing their valuable time to make the occasion meaningful and memorable one. The prayer support, love and gift token extended to him and his family members during the celebration means so much to him, he concluded.

The function moderated by Sapa Ng. Kenbor was marked by beautiful song presentation by popular artist Miss Wng. Warnihring Anal as guest artist. Special Monsang folk song and cultural dance were also presented by Family Sanuw and LiwaChangning Youth and Cultural Club.
