Kamjong: The Old Age Home Association of Kamjong has extended its heartfelt gratitude to the 8 AR Battalion of Assam Rifles in a letter of appreciation for their unwavering support and compassion toward the elderly people in Kamjong District. “Their regular Sunday visits have brought comfort and security to our community,” it said.

Happy Home said that the Battalion’s dedication to addressing the needs and grievances of our elderly residents demonstrates their genuine concern for the local population. Their efforts as part of the civic action program have significantly impacted the lives of those in remote border villages.

“During their visits, they generously distributed tea, snacks, and essentials, ensuring our residents receive the care they deserve. We are especially thankful for their initiative to construct a new Old Age Home in Kamjong Town, providing much-needed shelter. Additionally, they regularly provide free medical aid, routine medical tests, and crucial advice for needy elderly people. Similar events were also held in other parts of Kamjong District, notably from May to July, in border villages such as Phaikoh, Humine Thana, Nampisha, Grihang, Kamjong, Kongkan, Aishi, Chattrik Khullen, and Z Chorou,” the appreciation letter added.

The Association also appreciated the 8 AR Battalion for inviting our elderly to their headquarters for organized meals, honoring them with respect, and discussing important security and community aspects. Their professionalism in guarding our borders, especially in Kamjong District, ensures peace and safety.

“We look forward to continuing our fruitful collaboration with the 8 AR Battalion and deeply value their efforts to uplift our community,” it said.
