Kelulu Dawhuo Crowned Miss Universe Nagaland 2025

Kohima, June 11: Kelulu Dawhuo, a 19-year-old model from the Chakhesang tribe, was crowned Miss Universe Nagaland 2025 at a glittering ceremony held at the RCEMPA, Jotsoma, near Kohima on Monday evening.

Organised by the Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN), the pageant featured 14 finalists and drew a vibrant crowd of supporters and well-wishers. Dawhuo captivated the judges and audience with her confidence, poise, and grace, ultimately emerging as the winner of the coveted title.

A student of St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, Dawhuo is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree. She is no stranger to the pageant stage, having previously secured the second runner-up position at Miss Nagaland 2024 and currently holds the title of Miss Kohima 2024. Her latest victory now paves the way for her to represent Nagaland at the upcoming Miss Universe India pageant, expected to take place later this year.

The evening also saw Anon Konyak A, the reigning Miss Nagaland 2024, being named first runner-up, while first-time contestant Teilih Konyak claimed the second runner-up position.

One of the highlights of the event was the presence of Rhea Singha, the reigning Miss Universe India 2024, who served as a member of the esteemed judging panel alongside Amjad Khan, Director of Franchise Operations for Miss Universe India. Singha drew admiration from the crowd as she graced the occasion in a vibrant Naga traditional attire gifted by outgoing Miss Universe Nagaland 2024, Ruopfuzano Whiso.

Whiso, who placed in the top four at Miss Universe India 2024, also made a special appearance during the event, symbolically passing on the crown and spirit of representation to the next deserving titleholder.
