Kuki Inpi Manipur Condoles Death of Th. Haokhothang Baite

UKHRUL: Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) President Ch. Ajang Khongsai in a message has condoled the death of Th. Haokhothang Baite, a senior community leader who passed away on Monday.

KIM said Th. Haokhothang Baite, an octogenarian, was widely regarded for his calm leadership and long public service. Baite served as Vice President of Kuki Inpi Manipur from 1993 to 1997 and later headed the Baite National Covenant Council until his demise.

KIM noted that Baite’s influence extended beyond India, with organisations in Nepal and Thailand conferring awards and citations on him in recognition of his early social leadership and committed service.

“His lifelong dedication, particularly his steadfast efforts for the unity of the Kuki society, will remain etched in our memory. His contributions have strengthened our community, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and admired him,” the condolence message said.

KIM extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and comfort during their time of loss.
